TV installation is more than just good looks and functionality.

Safety comes first. Large thin TVs are top heavy.

The Richey Group got a call from a Dr. Dorothy K. Her concern was her wobbly TV.

In the sitting room, was a 32” TV on top of a cable box and then on top of a DVD player.  The setup was very concerning to her as she had just a news article about how a little child was badly hurt when a TV fell on him.
The Richey Group, LLC came on site and provided a solution to her concern. It was also suggested to completely hide all the wires and components. After the project was complete the room felt different, it felt safer and larger. Dorothy was very happy and can now relax knowing that her TV sitting room is safe for her grandchildren.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says 169 children 8 and younger died between 2000 and 2010 from falling TVs. In all, 245 children died in that period after being crushed by TVs, furniture or appliances. More than 22,000 were treated for tip-over injuries each year from 2008 to 2010.

“This is not as uncommon as people might think, sadly,” says John Drengenberg, consumer safety director at Underwriters Laboratories, which sets safety standards for TVs and other products. It puts TVs on a 10-degree incline and tests stability.
